2 November 2011 – Today, Digital Pictures Australia, General Manager, John Fleming has announced the appointment of Sarah Cloutier as General Manager of Digital Pictures in Melbourne and an evolution of its business model nationally. The ongoing opportunities brought on by digital technology and the ever-changing environment of the post production industry globally necessitates this change and will ensure the business continues to deliver innovative post production and digital solutions to the market.
Sarah Cloutier will oversee operations and manage Melbourne’s technical pipeline and business development. Cloutier spent the last three and half years at BSkyB in London as 3D Post Production Supervisor and VFX Executive Producer. Within this role, she managed the technology and operating structure to accommodate the HD expansion within Sky’s post production and visual effects department and launched Sky’s 3D channel in 2010. Prior to this Cloutier worked at The Mill, London.
General Manager, John Fleming will continue to focus on strategic industry partnerships and the growth of the Digital Pictures’ national brand. He said, “The post production industry has experienced challenges over the last few years and the film and television market is changing rapidly with continual technology developments, multi-platform delivery and a reduction of international productions to our shores. Sarah’s expertise will help us to continue to add value to our creative partnerships with the Australian production community.”
Following the recent announcement of Iloura and Boffswana opening in Sydney for the advertising market, John Fleming says Digital Pictures in Sydney will continue to invest in and provide specialised television and feature post production services. It will continue to deliver services in editorial, post production, colour grading, visual effects, Quality Assurance and digital transcoding, delivery and management.
A new leadership team has been appointed at Digital Pictures in Sydney with existing technical and operational personnel including: Marcus Bolton as Head of Post Production and VFX; Nerida Chapple as Production Manager, Jo Tankard as Senior Producer, Mike Baber will lead Editorial Services and John Warneke will continue to lead Digital Services.

Over the last 12 months Digital Pictures has undertaken post production on 24 high quality Australian television drama productions including: Underbelly: Razor, Cloudstreet, Wild Boys, Tangle, Winners & Losers, Sea Patrol, Dance Academy, Crownies, Spirited and Rescue Special Ops. Digital Pictures also delivered post on 11 feature films over the last year including: Sanctum 3D, Eye of the Storm, Snowtown, The Cup and Burning Man and worked on ten of the twenty-one features nominated for the 2012 Samsung AFI AACTA awards.
