Australian children’s animated series Dogstar has been nominated for Best Animation at the 2008 Asian Television Awards. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in Singapore on December 11.

The series has also recently been nominated in two categories at this year’s AFI Awards – Best Screenplay in TV (Philip Dalkin) and Best Guest/Supporting Actor in a TV Drama (Gary Files).
These nominations follow on from Dogstar’s success earlier this year when it won the AWGIE for Best Children’s TV Script, having been nominated for two episodes in this category.
Set in the year 2347, Dogstar follows the adventures of the Clark kids and their search in space for their missing pet dog, Hobart.
Dogstar currently screens at 5.30pm on Sunday on the Disney Channel and the second series is currently in pre-production.
