Speaking to a sold-out venue, global marketing leaders presented their nuanced insights on how to succeed in the exploding but increasingly diverse markets of China, the Asia Pacific and Generation Y.
Attendees also gleaned valuable insights into new and effective ways of connecting with their audience.
With new technology changing the relationship between people and brands, presenters spoke about the fact that marketers can no longer afford to continue talking at their audiences. Instead, by injecting a sense of purpose into their brands, they can connect to the market in a more meaningful and human manner.
Taking knowledge from behavioural sciences, other speakers argued that rationality is over-rated and that marketers should focus less on persuading the audience and instead appeal to the powerful parts of the brain that governs emotion and instinct.
There were also examples presented on how the radically creative application of emerging technologies can help solve big problems, disrupt markets and create breakthroughs and what marketers can do to promote innovative thinking in their organisations.
A consistent theme throughout the conference was the importance of continuing to find narratives that connect with people, even while dealing with a marketplace which is rapidly shifting due to new technologies.
