FremantleMedia Enterprises scoops up sizzling drama Satisfaction

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has snapped up red hot Australian drama Satisfaction (10 x 1 hour). This landmark deal is another example of FME’s commitment to seeking out superior drama with an international appeal. Set in and around an up-market city brothel, this steamy new series sheds the spotlight on the world of five ‘high class escorts’ and their manager as they juggle the pressures of their private lives alongside their hidden profession.

Created by Roger Simpson (Stingers, Halifax fp, Good Guys Bad Guys) Satisfaction is the inaugural production by his new company Lonehand Productions. The series is produced by Roger Simpson and Andy Walker (Answered by Fire) under the stewardship of SHOWTIME’s Executive Producer Kim Vecera (Love My Way, Dangerous). This carefully crafted character driven drama will make its debut on Wednesday 5 December during the opening week of Australia’s new premium channel SHOWCASE. The brainchild of SHOWTIME, provider of Australia’s premium movie channels, SHOWCASE is an exciting, edgy new channel that will be the destination for high end drama including Dexter, The Riches, The Tudors and Rome.

Commented Peter Rose, SHOWTIME’s CEO: ‘We are delighted that FremantleMedia Enterprises will be representing this extraordinary new series internationally. It has long been our intent to create high end original and intelligent drama that will both challenge and entertain – and with Satisfaction I believe we have done just that.’

Added David Ellender, CEO, FME: ‘With the demand for distinctive drama always high, Australia has proved, once again, to be at the forefront of creating innovative shows that capture an audience’s imagination’.

Paul Ridley, FME’s Senior Vice President, Sales Asia Pacific was equally enthusiastic: ‘We are so pleased to have secured such a quality series and are really excited about launching it to the international marketplace. Satisfaction is original, edgy and really quite different’.
