Griff the Invisible to screen at the Berlin International Film Festival

Following on from its success at the Toronto International Film Festival, Aussie film Griff the Invisible will have it European premiere in February when it screens at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The debut feature from writer-director Leon Ford stars True Blood actor Ryan Kwanten and Beautiful Kate’s Maeve Dermody.

It follows the adventures of Griff, an everyday office worker but a superhero by night who finds his life turned upside down when he meets a beautiful young 'scientist'.

In a statement, Ford said he’s thrilled by the support for the film.

“It’s been pretty overwhelming to see the way audiences are embracing Griff so warmly and enthusiastically all over the world – first at its world premiere at Toronto, then at early preview screenings in Australia and now we get the chance to reveal the film to a European audience at the Berlin Film Festival, just before its theatrical release in cinemas across Australia.”

Ford, who is also an actor, won the Efilm Rising Talent Inside Film Award in 2009.

Griff, which also stars locals Toby Schmitz, Patrick Brammall, Marshall Napier and Heather Mitchell, hits Australian cinemas in March next year. The film is being distributed by Paramount Pictures Australia and Transmission Films.
