Ice Cube is coming to Sydney in September for the release of feature film Straight Outta Compton.
Ice Cube will be joined by director of the film F. Gary Gray (Friday, The Italian Job) and his son O'Shea Jackson Jnr.
Straight Outta Compton depicts the rise of N.W.A in Compton, California, one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in Los Angeles.
Five young men from Compton turned to music to express their frustrations and emerged as a force that created a music revolution that still inspires musicians today.
The film is a true story, based on the lives of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella.
Straight Outta Compton stars O’Shea Jackson Jr, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr Dre and Eazy-E.
The drama is produced by original N.W.A members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who are joined by fellow producers Tomica Woods-Wright, Matt Alvarez, Gray and Scott Bernstein.
Will Packer serves as executive producer of the film alongside Adam Merims, David Engel, Bill Straus, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.
