Director-cinematographer Jack Wareham is back in the country after shooting Rain Fall, the blockbuster action picture backed by Sony Pictures Japan. Gary Oldman stars along side Shiina Kippei (Shinobi) and Akiho Hasegawa in the Japan-set thriller, which was filmed in Tokyo and New York.
Jack put the call out to internationally acclaimed photographer Mr. Matt Hoyle to bring his trademark of rich detail and unique treatment to the stills for the film. Now based in NYC, Hoyle is the well-liked former McCann-Erickson CD who turned his hand to photography. He has worked with some of the biggest publications and ad agencies today, including New York Magazine Esquire, and Rolling Stone, Saatchis, Publicis, M&C Saatchi and Arnold Worldwide.
After three months of honing his cinematography craft with some of the world’s best creative minds, Jack is eager to sink his teeth into commercials again. He will be back on the Taxi roster from July 7.
Rain Fall is Sony Pictures Japan’s first feature film and is the first film in Japan to be shot on the Panavision Genesis. Adapted from a novel by best- selling American author Barry Eisler, the film is the story of a hit man who is forced to protect the daughter of one of his victims against assassination by the CIA.
If the thought of Oldman in a hitman vs. CIA thriller is giving your socks a damn soaking then you’re in for a treat with the release of the film planned for April 2009.
