Jon Hewitt’s erotic thriller X hits number 14 on IMDB moviemeter

Press release from Circe Films

In the wake of the spectacular success of its US DVD release on Sept 1, Jon Hewitt's low-budget Australian thriller “X” has rocketed into the TOP 20 on Hollywood's number one indicator IMDB.

Currently at #14 on the all-important MOVIEmeter, “X” is in the company of huge-budget Hollywood blockbusters like Thor, The Help, Conan the Barbarian, Fast Five and Friends With Benefits.

Released through IFC in America, “X” has already enjoyed a successful theatrical and Video On Demand platform release.

X has also sold to all major world territories including UK (Revolver), Germany (Senator), France (CTV), Canada (Mongrel) Japan (Medallion) and
Korea (Hyruri).

Producer Lizzette Atkins says “ We are thrilled to see “X” gathering momentum internationally ahead of it's Australian release. We have always believed the film has the potential to reach a wide audience both here and abroad.”

X will be released in cinemas throughout Australia in November.
