Journalist role opens at IF Magazine

IF Magazine, Australia’s leading publication for screen content professionals, has an opportunity for an experienced journalist with a passion for film and television to join their team.

Based in Sydney and reporting to the editor, you will be tasked with covering all the latest film and television industry news.

The role will require you to produce fast, accurate, original copy for online and in-depth feature articles for the magazine, which is distributed to newsstands nationally.

The successful candidate will need to immerse themselves in the industry and build a strong book of contacts with a view to generating original stories. Screen industry experience will be highly regarded.

You will produce copy that is clean, logical and accurate and have the ability to explain complex ideas and situations with clarity.

You will also take a leading role in ensuring the website is updated daily with strong, engaging content.

Demonstrated experience in using social media to drive traffic and familiarity with best website practices will also be viewed favourably.  You may also need to attend interstate event and preview screenings.

You will be interviewing actors, directors, writers, producers and film and TV executives. This will require a strong grasp of the Australian screen industry.
