Sandra Levy, CEO of the Australian Film Television and Radio School – Australia’s premier screen broadcast and new media training institution – is pleased to announce the appointment of leading New Media academic Professor Katherine Blashki to head the Research and Education Division at AFTRS.
Professor Blashki is a distinguished New Media academic with a recognised background in the communication arts and information technology faculties at numerous universities including Monash and Deakin.
‘Katherine will bring a wealth of experience in the multimedia sector to the School at a pivotal and exciting time as the school prepares to move to a new purpose-built facility in the heart of Sydney’s cultural precinct,’ said Sandra Levy the CEO of the School.”
‘We are thrilled Professor Blashki is taking up the appointment to head our new Research and Education Division at AFTRS responsible for an enhanced research role and academic responsibilities.’
‘Katherine has a proven commitment to encouraging industry innovation and her research and writing credits are outstanding, including more than ninety papers and journals.’
Professor Blashki will be able to draw on her experience of working with communities, industry and her work as an international consultant in communication, IT, multimedia and games design.
Professor Blashki is currently a consultant for IT and Games Education and a member of the Board of Film Victoria.
