Mary & Max follows the story of Mary Dinkle, a chubby lonely eight-year-old girl from the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max Horovitz, a severely obese, Jewish man with Asperger’s Syndrome living in the chaos of New York.
The two strike up an extraordinary bond that spans twenty years and two continents. Based on a true story, the poignant and often humorous friendship between Mary and Max shows how sometimes the unlikely friends we make help us survive the diet of life’s ups and downs.
