Mi9 today announced it had completed the sale of the wholly owned subsidiary HWW Pty Ltd to Gracenote, part of the Tribune Media Company.
The sale aligns with the core focus of Mi9 under Nine Entertainment Co. to deliver excellent consumer experiences across digital and television platforms, and compelling media solutions to its agency and advertiser clients.
HWW is Australia’s leading provider of TV listings and metadata for both free-to-air and subscription television. Gracenote provides music and video content and technologies to the world’s most popular entertainment products and brands.
The sale by Mi9 completes the evolution of the HWW business from broad content syndication to a focus on providing metadata for the television and entertainment industries. All HWW management and staff will be transferring to Gracenote with the sale.
