Miranda Culley joins Macgowan Films

Macgowan Films is proud to announce that producer Miranda Culley has joined the company.

Miranda Culley has spent the past seven years working with Australian director Phillip Noyce. She was associate producer on the Working Title/Mirage Enterprises Production Catch A Fire starring Tim Robbins and which Noyce directed.

She currently has several projects in development which she is co-producing with Noyce including Tim Winton’s best selling novel Dirt Music; Year Of Wonders which is based on the novel by Geraldine Brooks and to be directed by Pip Karmel; Obelia, an original concept by Darlene Johnson; and Mondo, an original concept by Ian David to be directed by Jonathan Teplitzky.

Most recently Macgowan Films produced the feature Death Defying Acts starring Guy Pearce and Catherine Zeta Jones which releases theatrically in the US on July 11 and in the UK on August 8.

Macgowan Films’ current slate of projects includes the romantic drama South Solitary to be directed by Shirley Barrett, produced by Marian Macgowan with executive producers Emile Sherman and Sarah Radclyffe which starts production in September 2008; and Blessed, directed by Ana Kokkinos, produced by Al Clarke and executive produced by Marian Macgowan which will begin production in August 2008.

Miranda Culley will co-produce for Macgowan Films on South Solitary and several other projects currently in development.
