The Project Factory has launched a new fund to support the development of digital ideas for television drama and documentary series.
The Digital Project Fund will provide cash and in-kind services to a select number of pro-duction companies towards securing and exploiting digital rights to create new interac-tive formats and revenue streams based on that property.
“Our goal is to create bridges between television, film, and the digital world. We have seen game-changing results from our recent projects; results that increase audience viewership by double-digit percentages, that generate new revenue streams, and that create the sort of engagement that can trigger full series commissions,” said The Project Factory’s Group Executive Director, Guy Gadney.
“In launching this initiative, we want to highlight our firm belief that there is a sustainable creative and commercial business in transmedia and multiplatform, and that the effects of these projects can have an immense impact on the success of shows and movies in the marketplace.”
The Digital Project Fund was announced at Screen Forever, the Screen Producers Associa-tion of Australia’s annual conference in Melbourne.
The fund will be open to any television or movie production company with projects in pre-production or production. The Digital Project Fund will open on 1st December 2013 on www.theprojectfactory.com.
