Production conglomerate Omnilab Media has appointed a new general manager of media services.
After more than a decade overseas including a stint as M&C Saatchi chief executive, Sunita Gloster will focus on identifying new opportunities in both the advertising and entertainment markets for the company.
“Sunita has the right industry experience and leadership skills to realise the full potential of our Sydney-based media services' businesses within Omnilab Media,” Omnilab Media managing director Christopher Mapp said in a statement.
These businesses include VFX, design and post production company The Lab; offline facility Island Films; and post production and sound design company Cornerpost.
Gloster has worked in communications and advertising agencies for about 20 years, most recently working as managing director of advertising agency Bellamyhayden, until the company merged with Naked.
She has experience across all fields of communications, including commercial operations, management of global networks, strategic marketing and brand management, and client services.
“It's an exciting time with the convergence of the communications and entertainment industries and I'm absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to take on this role and get involved,” Gloster said in a statement.
Meanwhile, The Lab Sydney has appointed former Fuel VFX and Animal Logic artist Angus Wilson.
Wilson – who also worked at Animal Logic and contributed on award-winning commercials such as Vodafone's Fold with Red Hill director Patrick Hughes
– will be the company's VFX supervisor and lead VFX artist.
He also worked on BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs, which will be made into a feature film, and is a recipient of two Emmy Awards for visual effects on BBC series Merlin and Hallmark's Alice In Wonderland.
