Palace Cinemas have announced they will host Q&A events for two new Australian films, RUBEN GUTHRIE and LAST CAB TO DARWIN.
In a Melbourne first, writer, director and actor Brendan Cowell (NOISE, BENEATH HILL 60) and actor Patrick Brammall (OFFSPRING, THE LITTLE DEATH) will join guests at Palace Cinema Como for a preview screening and Q&A for their film RUBEN GUTHRIE. A dark comedy-drama, written and directed by Cowell, RUBEN GUTHRIE follows titular character, advertising wunderkind and party boy, Ruben, as he negotiates the personal and societal trials of a year without drinking.
Also at Cinema Como and following a preview screening of their film LAST CAB TO DARWIN, veteran actor Michael Caton (THE CASTLE, STRANGE BEDFELLOWS) and actor and director Jeremy Sims (LAST TRAIN TO FREO, IDIOT BOX) will take part in Q&A session. In the film which also stars Academy Award Nominee, Jacki Weaver, Caton plays Rex, a Broken Hill cab driver who, when told he doesn’t have long to live, sets out on an epic journey to Darwin in a bid to die on his own terms.
