In response to increasing industry demand for skilled film and television practitioners, Queensland School of Film and Television (QSFT) is holding a free information seminar aimed at encouraging more people to take up careers in film and television.

“Over the past two years we’ve seen a marked increase in the amount of enquiries from production companies looking for skilled staff,” said Alan Hills, Chair of School at QSFT. “We sometimes have trouble finding good people to fill these roles, so there’s definitely plenty of opportunity for those with the right attitude.”

QSFT’s free information seminar will be held at 11am on Saturday 8 November 2008 at the school’s premises: 7/38 Tennyson Memorial Avenue, Yeerongpilly. Please note that entry is via Ethel St.

The school’s experienced lecturers and other industry professionals will be on hand to answer all questions and provide sound career path advice.

Entry is free, however registrations are essential on 1300 765 354 or info@qsft.qld.edu.au. More information on the seminar can be found at www.qsft.qld.edu.au.

“The industry is crying out for enthusiastic staff in all areas, so don’t let another year slip by without following your dream.” Mr Hills said, “It’s a lot easier to launch a career in film and television than you might think. All you need is the right attitude!”
