Press release from Screen Australia
Screen Australia is offering the opportunity for one distribution company to access funding of up to $200,000 through the Innovative Distribution program. Applications are being sought from companies with experience in innovative distribution and an interest in exploring the online environment to deliver Australian screen content.
Introduced in 2010/11, Screen Australia’s Innovative Distribution program recognises that new models are allowing access to expanding markets and there is a need to support a variety of low-budget and/or digitally produced screen content that does not fit into a traditional distribution and exhibition program.
“We are keen to explore new models to distribute Australian content,” said Kathleen Drumm, Screen Australia’s Head of Marketing. “Our Innovative Distribution program will increase audiences for screen content that does not fit into traditional distribution and exhibition models by taking advantage of new models that are allowing access to expanding markets.”
The Innovative Distribution program offers the opportunity to enhance the marketing, promotion and advertising of a wide variety of Australian screen content including low-budget features, documentaries, short films and content made for online and web delivery.
Guidelines and application forms can be found on the Screen Australia website.
Applications close Friday 30 September 2011.
