Screen Australia has launched the Enterprise Asia program, which will allow Australian screen businesses to travel and present their upcoming projects in countries such as Malaysia, Korea and China.
“Enterprise Asia forms part of Screen Australia’s wider Asia strategy, which also complements the recent release of the federal government’s Australia in the Asian Century white paper,” Screen Australia chief executive, Ruth Harley, said.
The first of three Enterprise Asia funding rounds will provide up to $10,000 per territory to a maximum of 10 companies, specifically those attending the Asian Side of the Doc in Malaysia in March 2013. Successful companies will be expected to show viable plans for building their company relationships and their slate in Asia.
It follows Screen Australia's revelation earlier this month that it had committed its entire $42 million annual drama production funding within six months, placing the local industry in a precarious position in 2013.
