Screen Australia and the Canada Media Fund are investing more than $800,000 in a new fund for digital interactive works
Fox Entertainment's Bento Box Entertainment and Princess Pictures have signed a first-look animation development deal, with all projects to be fully produced in Australia with local talent and crews.
Princess Pictures founder/producer Laura Waters and MD Jenni Tosi have repositioned the production company.
A spin-off of 'High Maintenance', starring Yael Stone, and a comedic crime series from Jungle Entertainment are among the 21 projects that will share in more than $600,000 in story development funding from Screen Australia.
Screen Australia has announced $2.7 million of production funding, going towards two features, one TV drama, one children's drama and five online projects.
Five online creative teams will receive a total of $500,000 in the second round of the Google/Screen Australia talent development initiative Skip Ahead.
The eight-part web-series is written by and stars Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, who said jointly: “1 million plays of The Katering Show season two on ivue (sic). We can’t believe it. That’s over half the population of Australia."
The restructure of Princess Pictures is nearing completion with the pending departures of producer/partner Andrea Denholm and MD Jenni Tosi.
