Are Australian films and television series cutting through globally? The short answer from Screen Australia CEO Graeme Mason: No.
Too often creatives are focused on one of two issues: raising the money or creating the content. But if we are to have a sustainable industry, there should always be an eye on the third and most crucial issue in production: recouping the money from the various territories and formats that creative content is licensed to, writes Murray Fahey.
“We have a lot of films that are looking to go into production in the last quarter of 2017 or the first quarter of 2018 which big sales companies, gap lenders, financiers and distributors are actively pursuing."
