The Australian Post & VFX Alliance has used its submission to Federal Government's National Cultural Policy to outline the need for an incentive that greater encourages foreign titles to complete their post-production work in Australia.
New seasons of 'Total Control' and children's titles 'Rock Island Mysteries' and 'Strange Chores', as well as feature film projects from Northern Pictures, Made Up Stories and Causeway Films are among the nine projects that will share in $12 million of production funding from Screen Australia.
The Federal Government's impending media reforms have come under fresh scrutiny from the post-production sector, which is calling for a reassessment of the proposed changes to the Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Offset.
"The ripple effect of more people coming over here to shoot will be that companies like us and maybe some of the smaller VFX houses will be able to produce more work."
In a reversal of the traditional production process, the creative team behind supernatural thriller/horror 'Encircled' have started creating the VFX.
