Press release from IMAX Melbourne
Tom Cruise has arranged an exclusive sneak preview of the IMAX footage shot for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on Tuesday and IMAX Melbourne projectionist Dave Booty is flying to Dubai tonight to screen it for them.
This is the second time in a year that Dave Booty has received a call from Bad Robot, the production company behind Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, to fly out to Dubai to be involved in screening the IMAX footage shot for the movie.
The first call he received from them was a year ago, after they contacted IMAX Corporation and asked who they could recommend as the best IMAX projectionist in the world.
“It was an honour, but naturally I was excited to be involved in screening the dailies of a feature film shot in IMAX footage,” said Dave.
He was delighted when Bad Robot contacted him on Sunday afternoon (AEST) and asked him to be involved again. This time Dave was advised that it was on the request of star and producer of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise.
Dave Booty leaves for Dubai on a flight at 7:00pm tonight to screen around 17 minutes of exclusive IMAX footage of Tom Cruise scaling the world’s tallest building.
This footage will be screened two months ahead of the World Premiere of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, which is set for a mid-December release.
