Video Ezy unveils home entertainment rewards and loyalty program

Australia’s leading home entertainment rental brand, Video Ezy are pleased to unveil an exciting home entertainment rewards and loyalty program, Flash Rewards, giving Video Ezy customers and entertainment buffs access to a world of exclusive rewards and discounts across a range of entertainment-related categories.

With a database of over six million customers and representing over 40% of Australia’s home entertainment industry, the launch of Flash Rewards presents an exciting time for Video Ezy in further strengthening its position as an industry leader.

Despite the thousands of Reward Programs in market, research identified that there was still a gap in the market for exclusive, instant, simple and solely entertainment-focused rewards.

One customer cited “I join these programs with the best intentions, but there are too many things to remember and they all look the same, so I never end up using it.” This was a common perception highlighted in the research.

With their customers in mind, Video Ezy embarked on a major project to develop its own in-house rewards program and partner program acquisition.

The result today is Flash Rewards, which is an upgrade to a Video Ezy Customer’s Rental Membership and gives consumers exclusive everyday savings and entertainment related rewards on movies, music, food, magazines and books, including free rentals on new release movies, free extra nights on movie rentals, plus a range of other exclusive in-store discounts.

“Australia has the largest consumption of home rental per capita in the world, so we have a responsibility to make it easy for our customers to rent from us. We have enhanced our Customer Relationship Management & POS Systems, so when someone joins Flash Rewards, they can then rent from any participating Video Ezy Store and access their flash benefits without the need to sign up with each store every time” says Paul Uniacke, Owner and Director of Video Ezy Australia.

Having access to powerful and rich data also gives Video Ezy a leading advantage over its competitors.

We have the ability to capture such an amazing breadth of information about our customers, so we know what day/s, time, type of movies you rent, whether you purchased a Coke or Mars Bar, and then have the ability to notify you via email or SMS and tell you that a movie with Harrison Ford is being released onto DVD, (because you have rented a range of movies featuring Harrison Ford) and give you an offer to rent and get a bottle of Coke for $9.95.

That puts us in a fairly powerful position to run highly targeted programs that some companies dream of doing. We have the ability to do this with over six million customers tomorrow” says Mr. Uniacke.

When a member upgrades to Flash in-store, they can access the rental rewards within seconds. Flash Rewards is a powerful enhancement to our CRM systems to drive loyalty”he said.

Even less than one month into the launch of Flash Rewards, Video Ezy have already been approached by a number of companies who want to be involved in an industry first, Flash Rewards, and the potential to get their brand in front of six million customers.

Mr. Uniacke added that Flash Rewards is very different from most rewards programs, stating, “We could have developed another points-based program, but our customers don’t want that. They want rewards that they can use instantly and Flash Rewards delivers that.”
