Australian performers are being encouraged to report instances of self-tape audition requirements that carry unrealistic expectations, as debate about the practice increases overseas.
A committee comprising members of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) and Casting Guild of Australia (CGA), along with performer representatives, gathered last Friday to review the MEAA’s self-tape best practice guidelines, following complaints about some of the briefs for self-testing.
