The RealFlow RenderKit for Renderman and mental ray

The RealFlow RenderKit is a set of tools that has been designed to facilitate the complex task of rendering RealFlow™ fluids. Compatible with Renderman™ and mental ray™, the RFRK enables you to generate procedural geometry at render time and render individual fluid particles, dramatically simplifying and accelerating your RealFlow™ workflow.

If you’re struggling with the complex task of rendering RealFlow™ fluids, you might be interested in Next Limit’s latest innovation: the RealFlow Renderkit. We created the RFRK in direct response to feedback from our RealFlow customers, who reported that, although they loved the stunning fluid sim results they got from RealFlow, rendering meshes and importing large quantities of particles from RealFlow into their 3D platforms could be time-consuming, and could create memory issues. The RFRK enables you to generate procedural geometry at render time, and also render individual fluid particles – and, as a result, the RFRK will dramatically simplify and accelerate your RealFlow™ workflow.

The RFRK currently comes in two versions: the RFRK for RenderMan™ (also compatible with RenderMan compliant renderers PRMan, AIR, 3Delight and Aqsis) and the RFRK for mental ray™. Both are fully supported in Windows 32 and 64 bits, and Linux 32 and 64 bits.

The RealFlow RenderKit comprises two key tools to facilitate the rendering workflow:

•  FlowMesher™ generates a high-resolution polygonal mesh from RealFlow™ PD and BIN particle files at render time. You no longer have to load heavy meshes into your 3D application – you simply load a representation of the particles as a guide for the meshing process.

•  FlowParticler™ enables you to load millions of particles at render time quickly and easily, and feed your renderer with particle information from RealFlow™ PD and BIN particle files.
