Winged Creatures, the new ensemble drama from Australian director Rowan Woods, is set to have an advance screening at the upcoming Australian Directors Guild conference ahead of the director’s keynote session.
The $4 million US feature film, starring Forest Whitaker, Kate Beckinsale, Guy Pearce, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, follows a group of people who suffer post-traumatic stress after a random shooting at a Los Angeles diner.
Winged Creatures is an adaptation of Roy Freirich’s novel of the same name. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June this year.
In an email to members, the ADG indicated that Woods would be talking about the “deliberate strategy” behind attracting this cast, and managing “budget issues”.
The film was produced by the Singapore based production arm of Australian company RGM Artists Group,
The screening will be held on the opening night of the conference on September 26, and will be open to ADG conference delegates only.
