World’s best surf films to screen in Torquay as part of International Surf Film

The 2013 Surfworld International Surf Film Festival will feature the best surf films from Australia and around the world at the Surfworld Museum from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th January.

Opening night of the festival kicks off with the Australian premiere of The Endless Winter, a feature length documentary about the history of surfing and beach culture in England from the earliest surfing efforts of King Edward VIII to the arrival of Californian cool which captivated a generation of young Brits in the sixties.

Another highlight of the festival will be a special screening of the new Australian feature documentary Storm Surfers on Saturday 5th January featuring Jan Juc local Ross Clarke-Jones. Storm Surfers showcases the wild journey that Ross and good mate Tom Carroll (2 times World Surfing Champion) take as they chase the world’s biggest waves off Tasmania and Western Australia.

Ross Clarke-Jones lives in Jan Juc and will be in Hawaii competing in the 2013 EDDIE AIKAU MEMORIAL SURFING CONTEST during the film festival.

Closing night feature on Sunday 6th January will also feature the amazing surf documentary Surfing and Sharks. The films director Julian Watson will be in attendance to introduce his film and answer questions after its screening.

Thus years festival will be literally bigger and better then ever with all films screened on our new BIG dedicated 16:9 screen. A great way to check out a surf film at the Surfworld Museum.
