Psychological drama/thriller based on the novel by Julia Leigh. Martin is an ecological mercenary, sent from Europe into the Tasmanian wilderness on a dramatic hunt for a mythic creature, the Tasmanian Tiger. Working for an anonymous biotech company that covets the Tiger’s genetic material, Martin arrives in Tasmania determined to conquer the harsh, spectacular landscape and succeed where so many others have failed. At the base camp, Martin meets the grieving wife and children of a zoologist who has recently disappeared in the wilderness. The plight of this woman and her children touches him in a place he thought was closed off forever. Despite his own resistance, he begins imagining a future for himself as part of their lives.
