Every Cloud Productions founders Deb Cox and Fiona Eagger will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this month’s Screen Producer Australia (SPA) Awards, to be held on the final night of Screen Forever on the Gold Coast.
Established in 2009, Every Cloud Productions has since generated a consistent stream of film and television content for broadcasters and platforms at home and abroad, including the ABC, SBS, Seven Network, Nine Network, Stan, and Acorn TV.
Cox and Eagger are known for co-creating and producing three seasons of the international award-winning runaway success, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, which has sold to more than 170 territories. They have also been responsible for titles such as Deadlock, The Gods of Wheat Street, Christmas Ransom, Newton’s Law, A Sunburnt Christmas, Eden, and the reboot of SeaChange.
Cox began her career at Crawford Productions in Melbourne, later becoming head of drama for artist services and co-founder of CoxKnight Productions, which created feature film, Dead Letter Office, three seasons of ABC series SeaChange, Ten Network drama series CrashBurn, and children’s series Worst Best Friends.
Eagger’s early career included working with feature director Paul Cox and Crawford Productions before producing SBS series Ark of Gondwana and later ABC series Mercury. Her long-standing collaboration with Deb Cox began when she produced the CrashBurn and continued with drama series East of Everything. She has also produced telemovies The Society Murders, The Informant, Small Treasures, and features Only the Brave and the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight selection Mallboy.
In 2022, Cox and Eagger announced they would be stepping back from the day-to-day operations of Every Cloud, handing the reins to head of business affairs Drew Grove while each continuing on in an advisory role.
Screen Forever will be held on the Gold Coast from March 19 – 21.
