Press release from Limelight PR

Robin Murphy has been selected as the MIFF 37South: Accelerator Express producer by MIFF 37South Market, the film co-financing market of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) which occurs 23-26 July 2009 inclusive.

MIFF 37ºSouth: Accelerator Express is a collaboration of MIFF 37ºSouth Market, which is for producers with script-stage project slates, and Accelerator, MIFF’s workshop for new short film directing talent. It comprises:

# 37ºSouth: Accelerator Producer Express in which one lucky producer of an Accelerator short film who is developing a feature film with the same director is selected to participate in MIFF 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap thereby accelerating this team’s project for consideration by registered buyers.

# 37ºSouth: Accelerator Screenings Express in which an Accelerator-selected program of short films has special screenings for 37South: Bridging the Gap’s registered producers thereby exposing the works of Accelerator top directors of tomorrow to today’s established producers.

Murphy’s selection means that she receives a complimentary registration to MIFF 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap, where she will pitch Mark Albiston’s and Louis Sutherland’s SHOPPING, Murphy’s first feature film project, to MIFF 37ºSouth: Bridging the Gap’s more than 30 local and international film financiers. Meantime, 37ºSouth: Accelerator Screenings Express exposes the work of Accelerator’s top directing talents of tomorrow to 70 of today’s established producers (registered at MIFF 37ºSouth Market 2009) in a screening program of selected shorts from some of Accelerator’s 2009 participants.
