UPDATED: William Shatner no longer planning Aus web series shoot

UPDATED (March 7): William Shatner no longer plans to shoot an episode of his Brown Bag Wine Tasting web series in Australia due to scheduling conflicts. Shatner will shortly arrive in Perth (March 9-10) followed by Adelaide (March 16-17) for the Oz Comic-Con.

Hollywood icon William Shatner is looking for "two experienced local camera guys" and "interesting folks" in Perth and Adelaide to shoot a potential segment for his Brown Bag Wine Tasting web series.

Shatner, who is set to visit both cities in March as a guest of Oz Comic-Con, put out the call via his Twitter account:

Each five-minute episode of his Brown Bag Wine Tasting series involves Shatner talking with a local character about their profession as they share a bottle of wine in a brown paper bag.

The 81 year-old Shatner is best known as Captain James T. Kirk on the original Star Trek series although is body of work is vast . His work has been recognised with Emmy Awards for his performances in TV series The Practice and Boston Legal. He has recently embraced social media and earlier this year had a Twitter exchange with astronaut Chris Hadfield while he was in orbit.

The Oz Comic-Con will be held in Perth on the weekend of March 9-10 followed by Adelaide March 16-17 and will also feature a range of sci-fi and cult stars such as Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver) and Patricia Quinn (The Rocky Horror Picture Show).
