ADG announces 2007 Conference Keynote speaker: US film and television director B

US Film and Television Director Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Casper, City of Angels, Judging Amy, NYPD Blue, Felicity, LA Law) has been announced as Keynote speaker at the ADG Atlab Conference to be held on 12-14 October at the Swissotel in Sydney.

Brad made history by releasing 10 Items or Less (starring Morgan Freeman) on the Internet while it was still in cinemas – a mere 14 days after it made its debut. This event was highlighted by the American Film Institute in their AFI Awards 2006 ‘Moments of Significance’. Brad will speak about this bold new distribution strategy and what this move will mean for independent directors and filmmakers financing their films and reaching an audience.

‘Brad is an exciting addition to our Conference,’ said ADG Executive Director Drew MacRae ‘and should be able to give Australian television and filmmakers a real insight into the future of the screen industry.’

Brad will also talk about his experiences working in big budget Hollywood blockbusters, low budget films and high profile television series such as Judging Amy, NYPD Blue, Felicity, LA Law, Doogie Howser MD.

Brad has directed some of Hollywood’s greatest acting talent including Dustin Hoffman, Susan Sarandon, Morgan Freeman, Jim Carrey, Jude Law, Billy Connelly, Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci and Jake Gyllenhaal.
