The votes have been counted and the winners of the 2007EnhanceTV ATOM Awards announced – at a ‘sparkling’ 25th anniversary celebration, held Friday evening at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre.
Amber Nelson, Event Manager, 2007EnhanceTV ATOM Awards said of the awards program, ‘It is always so exciting to see the broad range of impressive productions that are in the running for an award each year. It’s also fabulous to see a production like Thursday’s Fictions which has been creating a presence in other forms of media including written word and now a great site in Second Life. It’s wonderful to see that sort of extension of a concept and the utilisation of so many different avenues.’
Each year, the ATOM Awards recognise excellence in over thirty categories of Film, Television, Animation and Multimedia and celebrate the very best of Australian and New Zealand production.
The 2007 EnhanceTV ATOM Awards program was open to the education and industry sectors, students, production companies, independent filmmakers, educational bodies and educational producers in both countries.
‘As has been the case over the twenty five year history of the program, our judges are always amazed, impressed and in some instances, overwhelmed by the calibre, creativity and messages conveyed by those productions submitted to the program,’ commented Amber Nelson, Event Manager, 2007 EnhanceTV ATOM Awards.
‘The incredible list of finalists for this year’s program is testament to the reputation that the program has and also to the amazing talent that we have in our industry in both Australia and New Zealand. The winners can be very proud of themselves, as can the finalists,’ she added.
