Press release from AUM
The Heart of Gold International Film Festival will go full steam ahead after receiving extra funding support from the Queensland Government, through Events Queensland, following the recent devastating floods.
General Manager of the festival, Brett Houghton, said that the contribution would ensure the festival went ahead even despite the challenging times.
“We are so appreciative of the support from the Queensland Government, through Events Queensland. It is a real shot in the arm”.
“While some adjustments have had to be made, the 2011 Heart of Gold Film Festival will be of much higher quality in terms of uplifting and inspiring films being sourced from Australia and around the world.
“Festival-goers will also enjoy a superior projection and sound experience above and beyond that of previous years thanks to the generosity of various in-kind sponsorships.
“I urge people to get behind this great event to ensure it moves from strength to strength and continues to be a great source of community pride.”
The Heart of Gold International Film festival opens on March 17th 2011 and will feature over 200 films from around the world. The program will be launched at a public celebration on February 17th from 6-8pm at the Gympie Civic Centre. 2011 programs and tickets will be available at that time.
