Filmmaker in string of gay and lesbian festivals around the world

Untitled / The Trees, the short 11 minute film directed by Alex Goddard whilst studying at the Australian Film, Television and Radio school (AFTRS) has both screened and been accepted into various festivals around the globe.

It had it’s national premiere last year at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in March and it’s international premiere at the 19th New York Gay and Lesbian film Festival (Newfest) in June 2007.

Since then it has shown at the 12th Madrid Gay and Lesbian Film festival (Lesgai cinemad), 26th Chicago Reeling Gay and Lesbian Film festival and a cinematheque screening at the infamous Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) theatre in New York.

This year it will be the short film market at Clermont Ferried, France (Feb) and has gathered momentum in upcoming film festival selection screenings, most likely finishing in L.A’s Outfest in July (as Outfest is in affiliation with New Yorks ‘Newfest’.) It was also nominated for ‘Best Sound’ at last years Australian Screen Sound Guild Awards.

Featured music includes bands Cut Copy (Modular Records) and Drew Daniels from The Soft Pink Truth.

‘Untitled / The Trees’ – Three school students perform in a school drama performance but a more realistic account of their relationship can be seen as they party in a cheap motel cabin.
