Global Television today announced two senior appointments that will further strengthen the company's best-in-market client service.
Andries Theron joins Global in the newly-created role of General Manager – Outside Broadcast Services, effective 1 July. Concurrently, Global has promoted Adam Miller to General Manager – Project Services from his previous role of Operations Manager – Outside Broadcast, Melbourne, with immediate effect. Revered across the industry, Theron has most recently been a senior consultant to Gearhouse Broadcast, delivering the June Rugby Test series to host broadcaster FOX Sports.
Global's Technical Managers will report to him, enhancing the company's market-leading outside broadcast (OB) services, from the earliest quoting stage through to technical specifications, crewing and faultless delivery to-air. Theron will also train and develop up-and-coming Global talent, entrenching Global's client-focused ethos.
A television industry veteran with more than 25 years' experience, Miller is renowned for his technical and management capabilities. His expanded role encompasses national responsibilities for the preparation of all projects for Global customers, with Global's Project Services Managers reporting to him. Miller's promotion reinforces Global as a true Australia-wide provider of services to the content creation industry.

Andries Theron: brief biography
Andries Theron has more than 20 years' broadcast engineering and technical management experience. He began his broadcast engineering career with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) in 1989. Over a 10-year period he worked on major productions including international Rugby and Cricket tours to South Africa, the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the Kuala Lumpur 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 1999 All Africa Games.
He moved to Australia in 2001, working with Zer01Zer0, Prime/OSB and Gearhouse Broadcast. His Australian credits include Broadcast Engineer for the 2003 and 2011 Rugby World Cups and, over the past five years, Technical Manager for the Super 12, 14 and 15 Rugby Union tournaments as well as all Wallaby Rugby International Tests including Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cups. He has also been Technical Manager for the Hyundai A-league since its inception in 2005, encompassing all Socceroos international games including World Cup Qualifiers. In addition, he produced more than 1,000 Aerobics Oz Style episodes while with Zer01Zer0.
Adam Miller: brief biography
Adam Miller has more than 25 years' experience in the television industry. After starting his career with an independent outside broadcast provider he joined Channel Seven in Melbourne in 1989. Over the next 17 years he worked his way up through diverse roles including technical and audio, later promoted to OB Supervisor and then Technical Manager. Upon leaving Seven in 2007 he was a much sought-after freelance project/technical manager, working for most Australian networks and major facilitators. He also built the former Cutting Edge Outside Broadcast Melbourne-based team from a staff of three to 12. He has been with Global Television since October 2011 as Operations Manager – OB, Melbourne.
Miller's career highlights include Audio Director on the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympic Games; Audio Supervisor on the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games; Technical Manager on the 2006 Torino Winter Olympics; Assistant Project Manager on the Seven Network's 2004 Athens Olympics coverage; Project Manager on SBS's 2008 Beijing Olympics coverage; and, Project Manager on Network Ten's coverage of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. He has also worked on 17 Australian Open Tennis tournaments, 15 VFL/AFL seasons and more than 30 professional golf tournaments.
