19 Reasons To Love If You Are The One on SBS2

SBS 2 has left its light on for the popular Chinese dating show If You Are the One and has commissioned an hour long special that will count down 19 reasons To Love If You Are The One premiering on Sunday August 3 at 7:30 pm.

Since the series hit Australian screens last April it has developed a cult following proving popular with local audiences for its earnestness and the contestants business-like approach to finding their life partners.

“It's culty. People are discovering it and its frank charm. It's sensational. None of the fakery of The Bachelor.” Dianne Butler, Daily Telegraph

Hosted by Jeannette Francis from The Feed, and starring a mix of local comedians, musicians, TV and radio personalities, including Yumi Stynes, Benjamin Law, Ronny Chieng, Toby Truslove, Claire Hooper, Jake Stone, Charlotte Willis and Marc Fennell, the show will count down everything from priceless relationship tips the show has taught us all, to “light killers” and the video subjects that have girls turning off their lights in droves.

The special produced by Golden Duck (SBS 2 Mardi Gras broadcast) will also feature input from Australian fans, and a segment dedicated to the Australian Chinese contestants who participated in the series. Other highlights include a look at the show’s beloved host ‘Grandpa Meng’, Meng Fei and his popularity, as well as the male contestants’ nobility in defeat and their often humble reactions when their flaws are laid bare.

This special will inform those not yet familiar with the series of its wonder, and allow those already aware of its brilliance to share in the show’s best moments, from the girls and their ability to tell it like it is, to the men and their no-holds-barred singing and dancing, and the lengths they go to woo these women.

You don’t need 19 reasons to get your fashion shoes ready, and get your friends together as no one is failing to get a date for this special.

New episodes follow the special at 8:30pm and then new episodes will continue on both Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30pm.
