Oz/NZ and UK release for Aussie horror

Apocalyptic, a horror movie about a news crew that becomes involved with a doomsday cult, is being released though Monster Pictures in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

"We shot the film for under $10,000 in Victoria over seven days and created five different endings of the movie, " said Glenn Triggs, who wrote, directed, produced and edited the film, co-produced by Chris Gibson.

The cast includes David Macrae, Jane Barry, Geoff Pinfield, Tom McCathie, Cameron Box, Ashleigh Gregory, Frederique Fouche, Felicity Steel, Nalini Vasudevan, Rachel Torrence, Zoe Imms, Donna Pope, Natalie Nespeca, Janice Paull, Skyla Cleverley, Meghan Scerri and Stephen Triggs.

Triggs shot the 2010 horror ensemble Cinemaphobia and 2012’s time travel drama 41.

The plot follows journalist Jodie Black  and cameraman Kevin Horner as they head deep into the Australian bush in a bid to uncover the truth surrounding a bizarre doomsday cult, the Bytherainians. What they discover is shocking beyond their wildest imaginings.

It's been available on DVD in the UK/Ireland since Sept. 1 and launches on DVD in Australia/NZ on Sept. 17.
