Australian actress nominated for Daytime Emmy

Australian actress Tammin Sursok has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy for ‘Most Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series’ for her role in The Young and the Restless.

Tammin has received the Emmy nod for her portrayal of Colleen Carlton, the feisty daughter of Brad Carlton and Traci Abbott, taking over the role from actress Adrianne Leon in June 2007. 

She makes her Australian debut on the hit US soap on Wednesday, May 14 exclusive to W.
 
The popular actress joins a cast that includes Y&R favourites Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman), Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) and Don Diamont (Brad Carlton), and newer cast members including Australian actor Daniel Goddard.
 
From 2000-2004, Tammin portrayed Dani Sutherland on Home & Away and in 2001 won a TV Week Logie for ‘Best New Female Talent’ for her role in the popular soap. She went on to appear in the Australian feature film Aquamarine and guest-starred on the US comedy series Rules of Engagement.
She will soon appear opposite Harrison Ford and Sean Penn in the film Crossing Over and is currently filming the starring role in the upcoming Nickelodeon-produced musical Spectacular!.

The Young and the Restless is the world’s number one daytime drama and has been nominated for a whopping fifteen Daytime Emmy Awards in total this year, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
