The ABC has appointed Jocelin Abbey the new Head of Radio and Regional Marketing.

Abbey, most recently Yahoo7's Head of Consumer Marketing and PR, will run marketing for the complete suite of ABC Radio properties, including forty-five ABC Local Radio stations, triple j, double j, RN, Classic FM and the ABC Radio app, plus numerous digital only stations.

Abbey will also spearhead the marketing plan for the Regional Division.

“It is a real coup for us that we have been able to attract a marketer with Jocelin’s broad range of experience across radio and digital", Director of Audience and Marketing at the ABC Leisa Bacon.

"ABC Radio and Regional strategies are firmly placed in securing our place in an increasingly digital future. Jocelin’s leadership and deep understanding of the digital ecosystem, coupled with her love of radio, will be invaluable as we continue to grow our audiences for the future.”

According to Abbey, “Working at the ABC has been a long term goal of mine. I am a passionate consumer and advocate for public broadcasting and more specifically the ABC. The ABC has been a big part of my life since I was a child."

“The ABC has an amazing future – 71 percent of Australians engage with the ABC each week. As audience consumption behaviours continue to change, it represents an exciting opportunity to serve and retain our current audience, as well as looking at ways to reach new audiences with the broad range of content produced by both the ABC Radio and Regional divisions.”
