Noosa International Film Festival extends deadline for entries

Noosa International Film Festival has extended the final deadline for short film competition entries to August 2.

The festival has already received 150 short film submissions.

Head curator Arnold Kopff said that while the deadline extension may increase the challenge for him and his team of 12 curators, he hopes it will enhance the range of official selections and event screenings on offer.

“We want to ensure that NIFF audiences will be thoroughly entertained and engaged by an eclectic mix of film subjects and styles,” he said.

Entries have been received from 25 countries around the world as well as most Australian states.

Each film will be separately reviewed by each curator and films with the highest number of recommendations will be submitted to the judging panel.

The Noosa International Film Festival aims to become one of Australia’s leading international film festivals by screening new international and Australian feature length films and high quality short films from all corners of the world, and by staging filmmaking masterclasses. The fest also promises an "intimate Q&A with an award winning Australian filmmaker."

The inaugural Noosa International Film Festival will run November 3-6.
