Penelope McDonald to depart Screen Territory

Director of Screen Territory Penelope McDonald has resigned and will leave Screen Territory at the end of this month to take on new challenges.
 
Department of Arts and Museums chief executive Hugo Leschen thanked McDonald for her 12 years in the position, and said she had made a valuable contribution to the NT’s screen industry.
 
“Penelope has been director of Screen Territory since the establishment of the agency in 2004 and during her tenure not only has film activity in the Northern Territory increased, but also the local screen industry has grown and matured, with more resources and benefits flowing into the Northern Territory,” he said.
 
“She will be leaving a significant legacy in the Territory with the agency in a good position to support an increasingly mature screen industry and tap into the wealth of outstanding locations and distinctive history of the Northern Territory to create new stories.”
 
While recruitment is underway for the position of director Bridget May will be return to Screen Territory as manager from July 27.
