Press release from A Night of Horror
A Night of Horror International Film Festival announces its official call for entries today. The festival, which is now in its fifth year, is accepting feature films, shorts, music videos, and screenplays for the 2011 event.
What began as an idea for a one-night event (hence the festival’s name) now spans for 10 days. The 2010 festival showcased 16 feature films and over 50 short films and music videos, along with hosting parties, filmmaking forums, and a screenplay competition.
Steven Kastrissios, director of the multi-award winning feature film THE HORSEMAN, praises A Night of Horror as “fast becoming a major player on the Australian festival circuit. With so little support for local genre films, A Night of Horror is a shining beacon of light. There's a genuine warmth and celebration of the films they support and it infects everyone who comes along."
Perth based filmmaker Wade K. Savage (THE DEAD WASTES) agrees, asserting that “A Night of Horror is one of the most incredible horror festivals you will go to. Put together by people who love horror, it's an utter blast.” Wade adds that the festival is “championing horror content in Australia, and what's more importantly, it's supporting true upcoming talent. If there is any horror festival you need to be apart of A Night of Horror is it. "
