A rising sun joins the SAFC Board

South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) CEO Richard Harris announced today that the Premier and Minister for the Arts, the Hon. Mike Rann has appointed Rising Sun Pictures’ Tony Clark ACS as a new Director to the Board of the SAFC.
‘I am delighted to welcome another passionate and innovative filmmaker onto the SAFC Board. Tony has been an outstanding contributor to the South Australian film industry for many years and his diverse experiences in visual effects and as a Cinematographer combined with his board and management experience will be an invaluable asset in helping maintain the SAFC’s position at the forefront of the Australian film industry.’ Harris said.
In his role as Director of Rising Sun Pictures, Clark has worked as VFX Supervisor or Executive Producer on big budget Hollywood projects such as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Blood Diamond, Charlotte’s Web as well as local feature films such as Elephant Tales.
Clark is also an Emmy and ACS Award-winning Cinematographer, with his CV boasting projects with Rolf de Heer on The Quiet Room and Dance Me To My Song, both which screened in official competition in Cannes, Mario Andreacchio’s Sally Marshall Is Not An Alien, Tempted with Bill Bennett and most recently Kalaupapa – Heaven with Paul Cox. Whilst juggling his Cinematography and his many roles with Rising Sun, Tony has also found time to sit on the Boards for the Helpmann Academy, Ausfilm and Cinenet Systems.
