Press release from Meetmarket
MeetMarket – the highly successful, productive and competitive marketplace initiative for documentary filmmakers – is now open for submissions for presentation at the 2012 AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY CONFERENCE (AIDC).
MeetMarket brings together selected documentary filmmakers with national and international executive producers, broadcasters and distributors attending AIDC in Adelaide in February 2012.
MeetMarket is designed to match documentary filmmakers’ most innovative project ideas with targeted national and international audiences. Twenty-five documentary projects will be selected to participate in MeetMarket, 2012. Twenty of these slots are available to Australian/New Zealand filmmakers and five slots are open to projects from International filmmakers.
Pitch teasers of the selected 25 projects will be viewed by executive producers, broadcasters and distributors from the documentary industry through the online Screening Room. The filmmakers will then have the opportunity to fast – track these creative and original documentary projects by holding one-on-one meetings with interested parties at the Conference.
The MeetMarket catalogue will be available year-round through screeningroom.org.au.
Filmmakers wanting to participate in MeetMarket 2012 should submit their projects online. Projects entered may be at any stage of development, production or post-production.
AIDC 2012 provides a range of marketplace opportunities for its delegates including MeetMarket, P2P: CO-CREATE, Trailer Park, Videotheque and The Editors’ Hours. Online facilities supporting these opportunities include the Screening Room and DocExchange.
Submissions close on Monday 29 November 2011.
