The Australian Film Institute (AFI) is once again offering the AFI Fellowship grant of $20,000.
The AFI encourages and welcomes applications from aspiring Australian screen practitioners who have a unique, imaginative and realistic vision, which they wish to pursue to further enhance their career.
After being awarded the 2008 AFI Fellowship grant, John L Simpson was provided the opportunity and financial support to personally research and develop a regional screenings map.
John L has travelled extensively over the past 10 months to regional communities to screen Men’s Group which he wrote produced and distributed.
At completion John L Simpson’s goal is to provide a ‘blue-print’ for future film-makers to find new and wider audiences.
"The AFI Fellowship has provided the support to turn my professional ‘wish list’ into a career plan of action," he said.
"The combination of strategic networking opportunities together with the financial support to research and implement my digital screening map of Australia has lead to extraordinary professional and life enhancing opportunities that have propelled me into the next stage of my career…."
