Australia Channel launched on Australia Day

Australia Day saw the launch of Australia’s first truly international television platform – Australia Channel, available to every nation across the world.

Unlike previous attempts to broadcast internationally, this is a truly global service available to view in more than 180 countries.

Australia Channel comprises five channels and provides locally produced programming on demand to international audiences (ex. Australia and New Zealand).

Australia Channel: News
A showcase of the very best of SKY NEWS LIVE with programs including; Agenda, Paul Murray LIVE, The Nation with David Speers, Richo + Jones, Richo, ViewPoint and SportsNight. The channel also presents the latest news with regular updates throughout the day.

Australia Channel: Business
Australia's only 24 hour business channel (SKY NEWS Business) is now available to subscribers around the world. In depth coverage of the Australian equities market and economy, plus a host of special interest programs on small business, travel, media, property and careers.

Australia Channel: Sport
The latest results, match highlights and news across the gamut of games Australians like to play and watch. The channel also features daily programs Sportsline and SportsNight, dedicated to informed sports commentary and insight.

Australia Channel: Top Stories
Top Stories presents a continuously updated stream of the stories making news in Australia. Stay up to date with the latest in news, sport, business and weather.

Australia Channel: Public Affairs
A-PAC is Australia's Public Affairs Channel, a unique offering in the Australian media landscape presenting uninterrupted, long form coverage of Federal and State Parliaments, news conferences, seminars, speeches and special events.

The service is a subscription OTT service available at www.australiachannel.com.au and can be viewed on PC, tablet and mobile phone.

It is also available in the Pacific region via subscription television provider Click TV with further negotiations underway with other providers.

The service is produced and distributed at no cost to Australian taxpayers.
