Festival Director, Francis Coady of The Coady Group said of this year’s talent. “I have been overwhelmed with the quality of the films that have been presented in 2009. We have several Sydney film premiers this year in “Sunrise”, “Hamburger Eyes” and “Driven” and each film highlights the incredible diversity that the Bondi Short Film Festival presents. From a story of hope shot in a rural Cambodian village, to a snapshot of the underbelly of San Francisco and into the trials and tribulations of a father and son relationship in suburban Australia. It gives me immense joy to be able to present these films to a highly discerning and appreciative audience each year. “
On this year’s judging panel the festival boasts experts from right across the film industry. The festival, this year including the Australian pioneer of film journalism, FilmInk Magazine’s Founder, Dov Kornits, to the well established short film virtuoso, Gracie Otto. Flaunting an abundance of film and television credits, Balibo’s Damon Gameau also joins the line–up as well highly acclaimed Australian film director, David Caesar. Finally the festival proudly presents their guest MC for the evening, Triple J’s breakfast radio host, Robbie Buck.
