Brisbane JMC Academy Martini Film Awards a roaring success

The Martini Film Awards in Brisbane were celebrated in style, with a Masquerade Ball theme, guests dressed in suits, gowns and masks, walked down the red carpet to celebrate the years of hard work the JMC Academy Film & Television Production students have put in.

A crowd of 300 gathered to watch the most outstanding work of JMC Academy’s best films in multiple categories including music video, television commercial, short film, animation and documentary. Also showcasing a gallery of student Animation and Game Design work which was judged over a range of mediums, including character, comic book, and games design. All the while, students from our Contemporary Music Performance course provided live entertainment for our prestigious guests & judges.

This year, our incredible panel of judges, includied Elle Croxford, Defrim Isai, Ben Hackworth, Patrick Hughes, Shayne Armstrong, Tony O’Loughlan, Dave Champion, Matthew Crocker, Kerry Farrell, Rowena Mohr, Mary-Ann Vale and Simone De Haas.

JMC Academy would like to thank our amazing sponsors; American Cinematography Magazine, Editors Guild of Australia, Director’s Guild of Australia, Arts Screenhub, Australian Writer's Guild, Palace Cinemas, Ben Parkinson Casting, Ego Management and eCaster online, who were kind enough to donate prizes to the winners of each category.

Huge congratulations all the students whose work was showcased throughout the evening, particularly those who won the awards for their category.
